Takes the view that agriculture is part of the solution for enhancing sustainable growth, providing jobs and increasing levels of income in lagging regions, while at the same time helping to preserve the countryside and combat rural depopulation, but in order to do so it is essential to have a strong public agricultural policy that adopts measures to guarantee fair prices for agricultural products, including measures to regulate production and markets;
