Believes that the development of eGovernment is a key element of the Digital Single Market; welcomnotes the Commission Communication entitl's announced ‘EU eGovernment Action Plan 2016-2020’;: supports the underlying principles of the Action Plan, which will make public administrations more inclusive, trustworthy and efficient, providing open and interlinked digital services; welcomes the fact that administrative burdens and costs will be reduced by adopting the once-only principle;

Believes the Commission can play a leading role in creating a more open and inclusive eGovernment approach; therefore calls for the Commission to accelerate its efforts in leading by example, and for other European institutions to follow swiftly; believes that adoption by the Commission of the provisions of the CEF building blocks canould facilitate trust and a cultural shift towards the uptake of digital public services.
