Welcomes the acknowledgement by the Commission of the need to reflect on the impact of new technologies on professional services, especially in the legal and accounting sectors, where red tape could be reduced and procedures accelerated; notes in particular that close attention needs to be paid to the consequent risks of such a transformational change for service recipients, including consumers, of such a transformational changewho must not be excluded from new technologies, but rather helped to exploit them to the full, such as through digital literacy projects; ;
