Welcomes Thailand’s enactment in 2022 of the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act as a critical milestone in combating torture, ill treatment and enforced disappearances in Thailand and calls for its effective implementation; regrets that on 14 February 2023, the Thai government approved a decree to postpone the enforcement of Articles 22 to 25 of the Act on Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance from February to October 2023; underlines the need to improve the existing legal framework as well as for other measures and actions to be taken in order to move away from the culture of impunity and prevent human rights abuses;
