To strength the strategic importance of trade in services - at the present time the sector accounts for three-quarters of EU gross domestic product (GDP) and of jobs - is essential that this agreement works as a first step to break the deadlock in the Doha Round; TiSA negotiations are an opportunity to focus on markets that the EU will not in a foreseeable future open bilateral negotiations and to reorient the European Trade Policy, enhancing labour mobility between countries and widening the multiplier effect; Nevertheless, negotiations should prevail at multilateral level rather than bilateral level;
