Recalls that the Withdrawal Agreement allowed for the orderly withdrawal of the UK from the EU, avoiding a ‘cliff edge’; was a compromise solution between a full EU membership and a clean break from the EU system; reminds that in the latter case trade between the EU and the UK would still have been governed by the WTO's rule-based trading regime, which is the foundation of the international trading system, and which is comprehensive, tried, tested, and respected by the world's trading nations;
