Emphasises that a strong European gigabit society and the timely deployment of 5G technologies is the most inclusive path towards the realisation of the digital single market, since high-speed broadband can promote universal growth, particularly in rural areas, by providing them with the tools to participate in the age of the Internet of Things (IoT) at the same pace as urban areas, while they enjoy the competitive advantage of lower housing, food and education costs;
