1a. Welcomes the initiatives of European SMEs, in which women are stakeholders, to relocate their textile activities to EU territory and adopt more sustainable production methods; notes that this trend is helping to create skilled jobs in the EU, which benefit women in particular;

Calls on the Member States, in accordance with the principles laid down in the circular economy action plan, to give priority to relocating the production and remanufacturing of sustainable textiles to EU territory in order to encourage the creation of quality jobs in this sector, which will benefit women in particular, and a reduction in CO2 emissions;
