14. Reiterates its belief that the introduction of a Knowledge Management System, bringing together multiple sources of information, texts and references into a single point access- system for both members and staff, wouldill constitute a real qualitative improvement that should not be delayed; notefollows with interest the recent discussion of this issue in the Bureau and insists on the appropriate follow-up; calls for an early exchange of views and for information, including cost estimates, as already requested in 2007; urges the Bureau to decide on the next steps during the budgetary procedure;

Welcomes the preparation of a long- term strategy proposal for its buildings policy, including the expected development of maintenance costs, which should be analysed during the 2009 procedure; considers particularly important the financial implications stemming from rental arrangements, on the one hand, and acquisitions, on the other hand; wishes to see the arguments put forward and debated during the year; congratulates the Secretary-General on his interinstitutional initiative to improve conditions concerning public procurement, especially to avoid cartel or monopolistic situations; awaits further information so that it can continue to follow the process very closely;
