Underlines that measures envisaged for the Digital Single Market strategy, such as improvements to the legal regime for e- commerce and associated consumer protections, tackling geo-blocking and improving cyber security, are relevant for both the EU’s external trade policy and the single market and attempts should be made to establish European standards, such as in data protection, globally and thus to prevent regulatory competition;
