RPoints out that the railway transport has been one of the first sectors to rely on AI since its emergence; recalls the benefits of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), a seamless automatic train protection system replacing incompatible national ones, as regards reliability, capacity, costs, safety, speed and maintenance; supports its full deployment and its continuous establishment as a global automatic train protection (ATP) system; notes the work of the Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking;
