Welcomes the strengthening of the EU’s relations with the Gulf countries, as underlined in the Joint Communication to the European Parliament and the Council of 18 May 2022 on a strategic partnership with the Gulf (JOIN(2022)0013); notes that there is a common interest in engaging more strategically with the Gulf partners; reiterates its support for the Abraham Accords, which has normalised diplomatic relations between United Arab Emirates and Bahrain and which has later led to Morocco and Sudan signing a normalisation agreement with Israel; commends the role that the United States has played in facilitating the Abraham Accords; calls on the Commission and the Council to support the implementation and extension of the Abraham Accords as an important framework for achieving durable peace in the Middle East; calls on the EU to explore the possibility of signing the Abraham Accords;
