Notes that studies show that the pay gap between men and women is to a large extent driven by the fact that women and men work in different occupations with different level of pay; a gender- divided labour market begins with the choice in education, thus changes in educational choices are necessary in order to combat gender differences on the labour market; urges Member States to better ensure study and vocational guidance in order to ensure all students are aware of the opportunities the labour market provides and the consequences of different educational choices;
