Draws attention to the importance of data for the transport industry, to support the technical development of AI and 5G and connected and automated mobility; considers that the Commission should facilitate businesses' innovation and trading in data, in full compliance with EU law on privacy and data protection; takes the view that data needs to flow freely between vehicles and services, between Member States and between the EU and third countries; to this end, data localisation requirements must be avoided, data must be covered by the EU's free trade agreements, and work on decisions on adequacy with various countries must be accelerated.
