3. Welcomes the start of operations of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) on 1 June 2021; reiterates the need to ensure that the EPPO has all the necessary resources to carry out its functions, in order to protect the EU’s financial interests; calls on all non- participating Member States to review their decision, appoint European Delegated Prosecutors after all and join the fight against crimes affecting the Union's financial interests, such as fraud, corruption, money laundering or cross- border VAT fraud.

Believes that fraud prevention and the fight against fraud by organised crime should be a priority focus of managing, certifying and audit authorities, as well as being the subject of specialised financial investigations; believes that the fight against organised criminal groups also requires enhanced rules and measures regarding the freezing and confiscation of assets; strongly supports more effective investigations in order to disrupt organized crime structures and stresses that enforcement authorities have to be ahead of criminals who increasingly use new technologies and seize any opportunity to expand their illegal activities, online or offline;
