Ba. whereas the EU and its Member States have contributed approximately EUR 95 billion in financial, humanitarian, refugee and military assistance to Ukraine, as of July 2024, to support it in the context of Russia's war of aggression, including approximately EUR 32 billion of military aid with a further EUR 21 billion reportedly to be allocated until 2025; whereas the EU must remain steadfast in its unwavering support and take all necessary actions, including from a budgetary standpoint, for as long as it takes to secure Ukraine's victory;

7. Recognises that is still necessary to increase the financial support of the EU to UNRWA in 2025, due to the agency’s critical financial situation that jeopardizes its ability to fulfil its important role effectively; welcomes the new commitments made by UNRWA to the European Commission in March 2024 to strengthen neutrality and oversight in light of the extremely serious allegations that employees might have participated in the October 2023 terrorist attacks in Israel; stresses that additional measures may be needed in the future to strive for ever greater transparency and neutrality monitoring; warns of the disastrous consequences that any attempt to side-line UNRWA as an essential partner or to cut its resources would entail for the entire region;
