Calls for the elimination of harmful practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM) and early and forced child marriage; is extremely concerned that more than 200 million girls and women worldwide have been forced to undergo FGM; calls for full access to physical and psychological care by interculturally sensitive and trained personnel; calls on the Commission to examine the synergies between the internal and external EU programmes to ensure a coherent long- term approach to stop FGM both within and outside the EU, given that the issue is inherently linked to other parts of the world;
