Notes that in the area of social and employment policies, Next Generation EU (NGEU) and the EU budget can play a subsidiary but instrumental role in triggering, bundling and directing investments towards social development and resilience; appreciates thaworries about this role will be enhanced by better coordination of national policies towards overarching EU objectives such as the European Green Deal, or the digital transition and the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the EU Gender Equality Strategy;.
