Draws attention to the negative impacts caused by mass tourism due to its seasonality and its uncontrolled urban development (such as cruises, new polluting leisure activities); considers that seasonal tourism can lead to seasonal vulnerabilities such as differences in financial resources between the high and low tourist seasons; highlights, therefore, the need to diversify the economy of these areas by strengthening their secondary sectors in order to achieve a good balance and a diverse labour market; calls on the Member States and Regions to devise sustainable tourism action plans in consultation with stakeholders and civil society and in line with a future European roadmap for sustainable tourism, and to make full use of the Next Generation EU funds and Structural Funds to finance the tourism transition action plans;
