1. Welcomes the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative, which is intended to round off the European Green Deal and complement strategies for territorial, social and economic cohesion, in so far as it is a motor for economic development, with its values of beautiful, sustainable and inclusive solutions, and which always pays due regard to cultural heritage and its original form, thereby improving quality of life for people in the EU;

Amendment 43 #
Draft opinion
Paragraph 4
4. Notes that the NEB encompasses many dimensions and policy areas, which may make it difficult for regional and local authorities to fully understand how to make the most of its opportunities; underlines the crucial role of local and regional authorities in implementing the NEB and their ability to facilitate the process rather than hinder it by potentially introducing additional criteria or redundancies; calls on the Commission, therefore, to provide specific and targeted information on projects, funding, technological and capacity-building opportunities as well as clear definitions of award criteria;

Amendment 54 #
Draft opinion
Paragraph 5
5. Insists that appropriate and accessible public funding is crucial for encouraging and implementing NEB ideas and projects at a local level; recalls that it is thanks to companies and individuals with a vision for change that the Bauhas movement came into being, as well as to the initiative shown by inidviduals and companies, and that this spirit of entrepreneurship must be maintained in this proposal, it being hoped that public institutions will lend their support to promote this type of initiative. Calls on the Commission and the Member States to provide local and regional authorities with relevant and user-friendly information on all financial possibilities and to support the sharing of best practices.
