Stresses the need to increase the financial and human resources of the Agency to enable it to carry out its important safety and security tasks, particularly in the light of the Boeing 737 MAX accidents and distrust of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that followed it; declares that due to the loss of confidence in its main partner agency, efforts must be made to strengthen the Agency's resources to protect it from industry capture, enhance its independence and promote European standards;

7. Welcomes steps taken by the Agency to achieve gender balance, such as encouragement of female applications during selection procedures, offering favourable working conditions and flexible arrangements linked to maternity; welcomes the formation of a gender balance advocacy group to raise awareness of gender balance issues; reiterates its call on the Member States and the Commission to take into account gender balance when nominating members of the Board;

Regrets the gender imbalance within the Agency's management board members, with 29 out of 32 being male and 3 being female; asks in this regard the Commission and the Member States to take into account the importance of ensuring gender balance when presenting their nominations for members of the Board; asks as well the Agency to take measures ensuring better gender balance within its senior management;
