Article 25
Member States shall establish a system to monitor ship strikes with cetaceans and containers loss at sea, and the Commission shall take measures to ensure that ship strikes to cetaceans are reported under the European Marine Casualty Information Program. In the light of the information gathered, Member States shall take further research and conservation measures as required, such as speed reduction and rerouting to reduce ship strike risk and their negative impact on cetacean conservation.
