Welcomes the Commission´s intention to propose a target on food waste reduction; Underlines the need to maximise value of biomass including by increasing separation of organic waste and by improving its management; Calls on the Commission and Member States to ensure high levels of separation of organic waste and to incentives returns of nutrients from organic waste back to the soils, its use for production of renewable energy, green chemicals and other products where feasible and environmentally beneficial.
