Importance of Improving Cardiovascular Health Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death in the European Union, and also worldwide, and consequently, they are the group of non-communicable diseases with the greatest burden on health systems.Unlike risk factors, cardiovascular diseases require a comprehensive, integrated, and specific approach to reduce their impact on the health of the European Union population;We therefore call on the European Commission and the Member States to: a.Drive a cardiovascular health action plan in the European Union to reduce the impact of these conditions, based on the approach of this document. b. Promote best practices in the Member States of the European Union to improve cardiovascular health.
