Highlights the vital importance of the approximately 2.8 million social and solidarity-based enterprises in the EU, which employ more than 13.6 million people, and underlines their contribution to cohesion, social care, quality job creation, the circular economy, the fight against poverty and inequality, the reintegration of disadvantaged people, the inclusion of legal migrants and refugees in our society, gender equality, improvements in health and the steps to be taken for a better environment, biodiversity and the fight against climate change;
