Is concerned that the EU has a very low battery manufacturing capacity; welcomes, therefore, the European Battery Alliance and the Strategic Action Plan on Batteries; calls for continuous support for them and for the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan on Batteries to be strengthened; stresses the importance to create ecosystems around the battery value chain in order to foster the competitiveness and sustainability of the industry; welcomes, in this respect, the Commission’s announcement that it will propose legislation on batteries in support of the Strategic Action Plan and the circular economy; calls, in this regard, for life cycle analysis of batteries;
