Believes that a circular economy is the way for the EU and European companies to remain competitive in a global market while simultaneously strengthening the unity of the EU market; therefore urges the Commission and the Member States to direct investments in order to scale up circular economy initiatives so that the EU can take the lead in global circular economy policies; considers that the EU’s economic recovery plan (Next Generation EU) should be used to put in place circular economy initiatives and infrastructure;
