Calls for close cooperation to jointly address the range of threats emanating from the Russian Federation, such as the continued destabilisation of Ukraine and Georgia, interferences in democratic processes in the EU and the US, hybrid threats and disinformation campaigns, while at the same pursuing selective cooperation in the areas of shared transatlantic interest, notably in the area of arms control; insists that, the EU and the US together, must do their utmost to support the legitimate democratic aspirations of the Russian people, encourage the civil society organisms under threat from the regime and endorse the right of individuals to protest and to oppose any internal oppression that goes against basic human rights;
