4b. Considers that, for Europe, free trade agreements, which encourage the import of goods produced under uncertain humanitarian conditions, must come second to the promotion of localism, which is known to have a positive impact on the environment;

Recalls also that sustainable development cannot consist of the promotion of a Europe driven solely by the tertiary sector; recalls the importance of resource extraction and processing, which cannot be left solely to third countries for environmental reasons, as this constitutes the exporting of industrial pollution to countries that are less concerned about humanitarian conditions;
