5. Calls on the Commission and the Member States to reaffirm their commitment to Policy Coherence for Development (PCD) as an important contribution towards achieving broader Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development (PCSD) in its actions for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda; in particular, urges the EU to ensure that its trade, migration, agricultural and energy policy, to name a few, are consistent with this goal, as enshrined in the Article 208 of the Lisbon Treaty and that women's rights, gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls are effectively mainstreamed across all areas of external action; and stresses the need to enhance mechanisms for PCD and PCSD within all EU institutions and policy- making; calls on the Commission to introduce more robust mechanisms for mitigation, accountability and redress for policies going against PCD; emphasises the role of ex-ante impact assessments in this regard;
