Notes that import dependency increases vulnerability to external shocks, as now observed in fuel, fertiliser and feed chains; calls for EU production to be recalibrated towards sustainable practices which reduce the need for inputs, for example by advancing IPM, and to focus primarily on EU demand for healthy food; calls on Member States to ensure greater farmer autonomy via the strategic plans, notably through strong support for organic production and the organic sector as a whole;
