P. whereas the Committee on Petitions continues to maintain an active interest in the implementation of the Regulation on the European Citizens’ Initiative, and is mindful of the many weaknesses and rather cumbersome nature of the existing legal framework; among these weaknesses, the Committee on Petitions regrets that the European Citizens’ Initiative does not allow a statutory text to be abrogated.
