Calls on the Member States and the Commission to promote initiatives focusing more closely on timber as one of the EU’s crucial raw materials and on the forestry manufacturing sector as a significant economic factor and supplier for a bio-based, environmentally sustainable society, and expressly supports awareness-raising campaigns to this end in schools and educational establishments;
