Calls for an expansion of the current EIB and EBRD external lending mandate, to increase its role in achieving sustainable development and, in particular, to take a more active part in the new private sector strategy – through blending, co-financing of projects and local private sector development – with a focus on low-income countries and fragile states; calls, furthermore, for greater transparency and accountability in partnerships and projects associated with the EIB and EBRD;
