Urges the two partners to continue to work towards a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue with a view to paving the way for a mutually acceptable agreement and broader normalization of relations with Iran; calls on the EU and the US to consider a coordinated, gradual and conditional sanctions relief in exchange for mutually agreed and verifiable steps by the Iranian government to resolve all outstanding issues concerning its nuclear programme, in full compliance with the provisions of the NPT and demands set by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); calls on both partners to adopt a more comprehensive approach towards relations with Iran that addresses the human rights situation as well as the broader regional security picture;
