Believes, that the impression given by some observers of a so-called scrambleabout a competition of sovereignties for the Arctic, often symboliwhich was caused by the planting of a Russian flag on the sea floorbed at the North Pole, does not contribute to fostering a constructive understanding and cooperation in the region; stresses that the Arctic States have on should not involve themselveral ocs into disputes about applicastions declared their commitment to resolve possible conflicts of interests according to the principles of international law of international law principles, particularly while trying to resolve possible conflicts of interests by using accomplished facts and declaring that national interests will be defended by all means;
