Considers that eCall should be a publictechnology neutral EU-wide emergency call system, embedded in the vehicleutilising eCall in-vehicle systems and based on 112 and on common pan-European standards, in order to ensure a reliable and affordable service that can work seamlessly and interoperably across Europe in all automobiles, irrespective of make, country or actual location of the vehicle, thus maximising the benefits of eCall for all drivers;
