Regrets that gender equality between men and women has not yet been reached in many areas; stresses that women still suffer from discrimination as exemplified by their low representation in the decision-making process, both in the private and the public sectors, and by the persisting gender pay gapscience, technologies and engineering, entrepreneurship and decision-making process, and by the persisting gender pay and pension gap, emphasises that women and girls, especially the ones living in rural areas, are particularly affected by poverty;
