Encourages the Member States to create opportunpossibilities for young people to acquire entrepreneurship skills; also stresses the importance of mentoring for young from an early age by offering them training and visits to businesses which will give them a broad view of the business world; stresses the crucial role of a number of associations for young entrepreneurs which offer young people opportunities to develop innovative projects, gain business experience and give them the requisite tools and confidence to become entrepreneurs themselves; also insists on the importance of mentoring for young entrepreneurs to enable them to draw on the knowledge and support of more experienced entrepreneurs;

Calls on thePoints out that almost 99% of European businesses are SMEs, calls on Member States and the EU to review the rules affecting SMEspplicable to SMEs by enforcing systematic use of the ‘SME test’ at all stages of the legislative process, and to introduce measures based on the ‘Think Small First’ principle, in order to remove the bureaucratic obstacles with which SMEs are confronted and achieve a high level of regulatory certainty as a precondition for job stability;
