Calls on all states to legally recognise the rights of indigenous peoples to their ancestral territories; stresses the special connection between indigenous women and their ancestral territories, especially in relation to traditional practices for the sustainable management of natural resources, the model of community support and resilience, which hold lessons for other communities that cannot be lost; expresses its deep concern about the consequences of land grabbing and resource extraction on indigenous communities, particularly on indigenous women, leading to situations of poverty, exclusion, violations of human rights including gender-based violence, abuses and exploitation;
