Calls upon Turkey, on the basis of recent statements by top officials, to begin the process of reducing the concentration of arms in the Aegean with the aim of achieving a parallel reduction by Turkey and Greece; is convinced that reducing defence programmes is essential in order to save resources in order better to address the economic crisis and to strengthen diplomacy and good neighbourly relations and cooperation;
