Welcomes the study on producer organisations and their activities in the olive oil, beef and veal, and arable crops sectors, which reaffirms the importance of these organisations and their associations in strengthening the position of primary producers in the food chain; encourages more establishment of POs in the beef sector as a way for farmers to effectively negotiate on price and tackle the imbalances in power between farmers and factories;

ConsiderNotes that the public demand for more sustainable food systems needs to be addressed, andis not matched by the capacity of the food supply chain to deliver sustainable prices/incomes to farmers, an issue that needs to be addressed in the Farm to Fork (F2F) strategy; calls on the Commission to clarify the conditions under which sustainable agreements can be exempted from competition law, namely in the framework of the current review of the Horizontal Block Exemption Regulations and related guidelines;
