Article 1 - paragraph 2
2. The purpose of geological storage is permanent containment of CO2 in such a way as to prevent or redto provide an alternative to the release of CO2 into the atmosphere by containing it permanently and safely underground in suceh as far as possible way as to prevent a negative effeimpacts on the environment and any resulting risk to humanhuman health or the environment. Geological storage of CO2 is seen only as an inter partes procedure in order to put a health to climate change as fast as possible.

2. A geological formation shall only be selected as a storage site, if under the proposed conditions of use there is no significant risk of leakage, and if no significant negative environmental or health impacts are likely to occur.

3. The competent authority may at any time requestire the operatorion to take additional or different corrective measures than those laid out in the corrective measures plan. It may also at any time take corrective measures itself and shall then recover the costs from the operator.
