Calls for the recognition of food sovereignty and an end to policies involving the exploitation of natural resources for export; calls, therefore, for an end to major hydraulic engineering, mining and forestry projects, biopiracy and the appropriation of land (especially for the purpose of producing biofuels, which are not a sustainable solution to climate change); calls on the EU to devise mechanisms under which penalties can be imposed on EU-based transnational corporations for environmental crimes committed in third countries;
