Strongly condemns President Erdogan's call for a referendum on the possible reintroduction of the death penalty; calls on the Commission to clarify what activities, organised by Turkey, are incompatible with EU values and EU law; calls on the Commission and the Member States, if the death penalty is reintroduced, to immediately end Turkey's candidate status and terminate the accession talks with Turkey together with remaining pre-accession support;
