Believes that the priorities outlined in the EC Country Strategy Paper (2007- 2013) are in line with Afghan society's needs; underlines the need to focus particular attention on police and judicial reform and to ensure respect for human rights, including in particular women's and children's rights, as key elements for rebuilding the trust of Afghan citizens in their state;
