Calls on the Commission to take the necessary steps to introduce proposals for European statutes for associations, mutual societies and foundations and to take support measures enabling the development of the Statute for a European Cooperative Society (SCE) in order to create a ‘level playing field’ with other type of enterprises and to prevent legal uncertainty and to ensure there are socially oriented corporate institutions and socially innovative corporate projects in the area of services of general interest; the promotion of the plurality of types of enterprises is key in shaping an efficient Single Market that responds to the needs of citizens;
