Calls on the Member States to improve their asylum policies by creating rules which would allow women at risk ofasylum to be granted on territory of the EU, on gender grounds, to women facing violence, in particular those at risk of being submitted to genital mutilation in their countries of origin to seek shelter on territory of the EU; calls on the Commission and the Council to assist the Member States in adopting common European principles in this respect;
