Takes the view that while cooperating on exploitation, trade and transit of energy products to the EU, there is also a need to intensify cooperation concerning safety and security of energy technologies, data sharing on know-how transfer, promotion of energy efficiency and energy savings as well as clean and renewable energy sources, particularly in relations with countries whose energy consumption is growing rapidly. The EU should adopt a strategy towards these countries in order to promote a sustainable and safe energy system which contributes to fighting against climate change;
