Is therefore concerned that the Commission’s communication on Trade, Growth and World Affairs is focused almost exclusively on BRIC countries and other ‘growth markets’ while paying little attention to Least Developed Countries (LDCs); cautions that dividing trade policy between separate communications on ‘growth’ and ‘development’ could undermine the policy coherence of the Union as enshrined by the Treaty;

4. Calls on the EU to reducesystematically include environmental clauses in all trade agreements and include reductions in certain non- tariff barriers, particularly on environmentally friendly products from developing countries which contribute both to economic and environmental sustainability;
